New life? Or was it an extension to uni life?

It has been almost a month since I am back in Newcastle, UK for postgraduate study. I find quite weird as I am slanging off from day to day and don't feel like there is any push factor behind me. Well guess David is right. There is no one else to compare your progression.

Hmmm.... bad news.

The good thing is I got an eye on my special one. Yay! after 22 years that's quite lag behind right? God is fair he/she made your good in something at the same time terrible for the rest. Wait is this even fair to blame god? Or I am just being negligence? Well like I care. Maybe I just too scared fall in love again.

Perhaps...... my logically reasoning is just killing off my feels.

Should get back to work now. I so hope that everything will be in order when times come.

But as a scientific guy the probability of so happening is almost zero.

Well that's a a new life? Or just the continuing chapter of life?

It’s saddening, says Mahathir – The Star

Knowing the fact that Malaysian Government is reverting Science and Mathematic from English to Malay once again me. I was educated in Chinese for Science and Mathematic during primary school, Malay in secondary school and English during college and university. To be frank I don’t have serious issue in handling the transaction of languages and I believe most of my peers doesn’t have much problem doing so. No doubt it was quite frustrating at the beginning of each transaction but in terms of knowledge transfer it’s not a big deal at all. Unlike what was written in the press, some claim that it will jeopardize the future of our young one. What does this statement mean? Is this imply that those who were taught in Malay for these subjects particularly students who graduated from the 70s to 2004 either not success in their career or can’t get a job? If so our government must be lying for our unemployment rate for the pass 30 years. :)

It isn’t the matter of languages in learning Science and Mathematic, at the end of the day what education tried to achieve is knowledge transfer from generation to generation. Language is always just a medium to pass down our knowledge ever since it was inverted by our ancestors. No doubt multiple transactions of languages might lead students into frustration and eventually scraping of their interest on these subjects but it will never compromise their future or our country’s developments. Let’s an example in Japan science and mathematic are always taught in their own language but their technologies isn’t inferior compare to the western countries. The same goes to Russia, Finland, and Germany etc. So logically the statement is false. Of course there are some differences in terms cultural background and social behavior between these country and us. But what I would like to emphasis here our country development and advancement of civilization doesn’t lies on the language of learning Science and Mathematic. I would say it’s the scholar it’s self. It’s all about our mentally, motivation and dreams. The person we would like to be in the future.

Personally I practice Engineering for my degree, sometimes I can understand what Dr. M insist in restoring English language as a medium of teaching Science and Mathematic. I believe most science students would agree with me. But what our country currently looking at is the wrong issue. It’s not about the language we need to revise it’s about the whole education system we need to change. Just look at our students today, what are their goals of learning? The answers are obvious:

To get a good grade in exam.

To get a first class honour for my degree.

To get straight A in government exam.

To get first place in my school or class.

To get a good job in future.

To… blah blah blah blah

And the list continues, I would say these are the answers you would get from the majority. Hardly you would find students saying that:

To make the world a better place to stay.

To save lifes.

To apply my expertise in helping others.

To invent a technology that will revolutionize our world.

Why? Why is this so? Why most students are so short sighted? Why they only focus on things that wouldn’t make an impact to our world? Why?

It’s all because the social behavior of Malaysian. Our young one had be intoxicated with the concept of learning to score well not learning to fulfill the hunger of knowledge. This is why? There is no need to invert or restore the medium of teaching science and mathematic. The government needs to change the so call Malaysian mindset. To do that we need to re-organize our country’s education system change the our system change the Malaysian mindset. (To be continued on this topic)

Remarkable Birthday of HK

Starting from 22nd of September in 1988 it's always my memorable day in the year. But nothing will replace this year 9/22. It's not only my Birthday Day it's the marker of my first university life in foreign soil the United Kingdom. Of course not to mention it's my first time I hug my sisters in my entire life. Well I am not sure whether is to laugh or cry for my behavior. Do I have to be that cold to them all these years?

What can I say is human being always has a very common mistake. People tend to more appreciate something if it's scarce or when we are about to lose it. No matter what let me take this as a new chapter of my life. There are still a lot of challenges and changes for me to face and resolve in the future.

For those HK blog reader please take note that there will be more write coming up from today onwards.

For those who come to send me off and sent wishes to me thank you very much and appreciate that.

For those who prepared a digital Birthday cake for me in Penang Airport in a very last minute. Thank you for that. It's a very green and economical way to celebrate Bday yet it's damn cool and creative. *Thumbs up*

For my family thanks for support in all sense monetary, spiritual, mentally and your countless efforts.

Well well well..... After a few hours browsing through the IELTS Practice Materials I think I am ready. It's very funny that students apply for University of Newcastle are required to take up this test? (I wonder why should be Malaysian's English level need to be tested? Are they offering language course over there or what?) Haha.... I guess thing will be make sense when I am over UK. (Let's hope it really do) Anyway it's 15 pass one in the morning, I have a exam to catch in 7 hours time. Let's call for the day and wish me good luck for IELTS. (Must score with flying colour xD)

Obviously I gonna start another blog post some crap and let it be abandon once again. HAHA If you saw my blog in MSN Live before I once posted why people blog? Now I know why, for me I wouldn't like to share my experiences, thoughts and whatsoever.

Perhaps you might think that I am 20 what can I benefit you right? To me It's up to you like the old AIESEC slogan. HAHA. For your information I am an AIESEC-er. If you read until this part I guess you might be interested in this blog. Before I kick start this let just do some basic introduction about myself, I am Chan Hua Khee you can call me HK, currently study in INTI International College Penang major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I am tall, fat and not so pretty guy I guess. So ladies if you are looking for a partner this ain't the guy that you like. HAHA. (Lame....)

At this stage I am currently at my final semester for my course, I am going to UK this September so for those who like to know more about pre-departure preparation feel free to check on my next post.
